My character Touya, who can be seen quite frequently around my gallery. I always said he had a tattoo on his back so I finally got around to drawing him with his tattoo.

The koi is a symbol of courage and the kanji characters further emphasize this concept.

Reference used for the pose.

From scratch in Painter 8, color adjustments and layout in Photoshop 7.
